Here are the weekly Recaps from the Top Thirteen Couples to the Final Three: Intro 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 Final 3 Olá!, como é você? A litte Portuguese to greet you this week! If you continue visiting Dr Matt's Fantastic Website, you will eventually learn how to say "Hi" in at least a dozen languages! Get insightful reviews of DWTS . . . AND expand your linguistic horizons. How can you beat that? News Flash: Julianne Hough is having an apendectomy. From Samba to Surgery within 24 hours. Here's my Less to Best Ranking for Week Number Six: 7 - CLORIS LEACHMAN — Corky Ballas ( Judges Score: 5 + 5 + 5 = 15, Judges Rank #7 ) Cute "little" routine . . . with an emphasis upon the "little." Careful, small movements throughout, capped off with a surprising lift, where Corky grabbed an arm and a leg and sent her flying in a circle. Flatley was polite. Carrianne was more direct. She lamented the loss of a very good dancer last week, Toni Braxton, . . . while Cloris, a dancer of lesser ability, survives. I've been hoping that the viewing audience will come to their senses and but an end to this charade! Yes, Cloris is fun and witty, but the show is about DANCING. It appears that the Producers may have had enough of Cloris's antics, so the Judges GET REAL and dish out three "5" scores. 6 - WARREN SAPP — Kym Johnson ( J-Score: 8 + 9 + 8 = 25, J-Rank #3 ) Michael Flatley reminds us that dancing is not all about execution of steps and technique, . . . it's about "soul" and "passion." Flatley congratulated Warren for bringing sensitivity to this Rumba—which is a big order for a big man. But the steps and technique were lacking, so I'm expecting lower scores. Surprise, surprise . . . 8, 9, 8 . . . what is UP with that? I think they forgot to watch Warren, and just enjoyed Kym's abundance talent and physical assets. 5 - MAURICE GREENE — Cheryl Burke ( J-Score: 7 + 7 + 7 = 21, J-Rank #6 ) I wasn't expecting much, and Maurice surprised me with a glimmer of grace. The judges got on Mr. Greene for NOT having chemistry with his partner. The Viennese is harder to do that one might expect. It takes more muscle control to do the slow dances. 4 - CODY LINLEY — Julianne Hough ( J-Score: 8 + 8 + 7 = 23, J-Rank #4 ) I clearly remember how eye-popping Julianne's Samba was with Season 5 partner Apolo Anton Ohno—check it out. In comparison, this Season 7 routine was watered down to match Cody's ability level. His execution was clean and strong, but, as Bruno pointed out, it lacked the proper technique of Samba "bounce" (rise and fall). Julianne is having her appendix removed tomorrow. Edyta is going to fill in until she's recuperated. 3 - SUSAN LUCCI — Tony Dovolani ( J-Score: 8 + 8 + 7 = 23, J-Rank #5 ) Every week, my review of Susan's dancing, and Tony's dance teaching, is about the same: Small and Tidy. But this week, she had a little more fire! Pretty good routine! Susan is "on the bubble" because she was in the Bottom Two last week. 2 - BROOKE BURKE — Derek Hough ( J-Score: 8 + 10 + 8 = 28, J-Rank #1 ) Brooke had a foot injury, so her practice time was cut in half. Given that deterrant, Brooke did a great job! Guest Judge, Michael Flatley, loved her performance. Carianne thought it wasn't her best dance, and Bruno thought she was struggling. So, Flatley's "10" score was flanked by two "8" scores. 1 - LANCE BASS — Lacey Schwimmer ( J-Score: 9 + 9 + 9 = 27, J-Rank #2 ) Last week Lacey was critisized for choreographing a routine that looked MORE like "Dancing AROUND the Stars" instead of "Dancing WITH the Stars." So this week Lacey toned her part and beefed up Lance's part. The partnership was very balanced. The judges liked it to the tune of three "9" scores! Lance and Lacey are back into the thick of the competition with this performance! Elimination Prediction: Who SHOULD Go? Cloris Leachman deserves the boot, and with three "5" score from the judges, . . . this could be the week when Cloris is kicked to the Curb! I think Susan Lucci's Fans will rally and give her enough votes to survive. Plus, you have to wonder where the "Toni Braxton" votes are going to land? I think they are MORE likely to land with Susan, rather than Cloris.
Results Show Recap: Fan Base was NOT enough to save Cloris Leachman this week, after the Judges awarded her not-so-hot Cha Cha three "5" scores. Cloris was taking license to just "show up" in any scene she wanted. It was funny at first, but I'm thinking that the producers wanted Cloris out, so they could control the quality and continuity of the show. :o) P.S.
