The Perfect Woman Look at me, look at me, look at me now. I study the scriptures one hour each day; I keep all commandments you see, quite completely; Design all their clothes and sew all they wear, I encourage respect for the local authorities; I play the piano, bless all with my talents. One day a week every child gets a date; I'm taking a class on the teachings of Paul, I track my bad habits till each is abolished; Our Evenings at home are ever delightful; I do genealogy faithfully too. Up early each morning, which isn't a shock; I read to my children! I help all my neighbors. I exercise daily, cook menus gourmet; I also file taxes for neighbors in need. I chart resolutions and check off each goal; I store home-grown produce in summer and fall. I write in my journal and sing in the choir; My sons were all Eagles when they were fourteen. I have a home business to help make some money; At shelters I volunteer one day a week; I grind my own wheat and I bake all our bread; I rotate and store a large food supply; These things are not hard; it’s good if you do them. It's easy to do all the things that I do. "It's easy!" she said . . . and then she dropped dead. Dr Matt edited the previous poem to describe the Perfect Christian Woman. Yet when conceived correctly, perfection is entirely do-able. |
